The Ranges
At the highlands
ZERO TO 1,400 YARDS
The Highlands Sportsman’s Club is located in Southwest Sheboygan County, in the Kettle Moraine of Wisconsin. The Highlands is a 660 plus acre private hunting club and is the premier hunting location of the midwest. Members primarily hunt pheasants when the weather cools in late fall. In mid-spring, once hunting stops, the Ranges at the Highlands open up. From May 1 until October 15, the ranges are open seven days a week for Range Members to use by appointment.
David Maglio, of Firearms Academy of Wisconsin, manages the Ranges at the Highlands. We have three separate main ranges which allows a wide variety of training from tactical type to long range precision marksmanship.
The Ranges are used by Law Enforcement on occasion and training organizations offer a wide variety of training courses available for enrollment by non-members. See Courses for details.
Also on the property is SoLu Estate Winery where live music is available to the public on every Thursday through Sunday. This allows a very close place to relax and unwind are a long day on the range!
Range one
Range One is able to be used for pistol training with a covered shooting shelter at 25 yards on the right side of the range. The left side of the range is able to be used for long range precision shooting from 100 yards to 1,000 yards. The unique design of Range One allows a shooter to shoot from a stable platform under a second covered shooting shelter and engage steel targets, without moving their shooting position.
Range One has steel targets as well as target stands for cardboard/paper targets to be engaged.
Range Two
Range Two has a Ballistic/Tactical Wall and the ability to shoot approximately 270 degrees. Maximum distance of 40 yards allows handgun, tactical shotguns and carbines to be safely used.
Ranges Two has target stands only.
Range Three
Range Three has a separate covered shooting shelter and a set 25 yards firing line.
Ranges Three has target stands only.
Additional Ranges
On scheduled occasions, the 1,400 yard range is opened to engage staggered steel targets from 400 yards all the way out to 1,400 yards. This is for experienced and established shooters and not for the novice. The Ranges at the Highlands is the only established 1,400 yard range in Wisconsin and one of two 1,000 yard ranges.
